The Search is on!
The Lord is in the process of bringing a new Youth Pastor to our church family.
Do you have the creative energy to lead a student ministry program that is unique, attractive and Christ-centered? Do you love teenagers? Has God blessed your leadership abilities to be able to connect with the adolescent world, drawing other adult leaders into the mission of impacting young lives? If you’re still reading, we ought to talk! Mountain View Church of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor/Director of Student Ministries. We are searching for God’s man or woman, passionate about shaping disciples and reaching out to a community of young people. We are looking for a leader, called to the adventure of shaping the opportunities for teenagers to know, love, worship, and serve Jesus. We have a heart for young people in middle school, high school, and in the community college here in town. Here’s the overview:
The Associate Pastor/Director of Student Ministries will oversee, coordinate and expand all ministries, activities, and events related to adolescents in the church family. This includes middle school and high school youth presently, and the hope of expanding ministry into the local community college, in the future. The individual God is calling to serve with us must be able to navigate youth culture and think creatively about communicating God’s word. An ability to communicate well and interact with parents and adults is also necessary. The Associate Pastor/Director of Youth Ministry will appreciate the strategic importance of recruiting, equipping, coaching and befriending adult volunteers. This individual will possess the attitudes of being team-oriented, fun-loving, passionate about students, positive risk-taker with a desire to grow spiritually and professionally. He or she will also need to be seen as a positive visionary, strategic thinker, creative ministry developer, and relational leader. This individual will connect with students and their families both in and outside the church family, meeting them on their turf and in their activities. It is our goal as a church to develop wholesome and healthy family relationships, and this person will be an integral part of this ministry effort. This position will be directly responsible to the Family Life Pastor and will be a key part of the church staff.
The ideal candidate has a passion for God and the desire to grow and deepen in a daily walk with Jesus. He or she is a person of Bible study, prayer, and vision with Christ-like servant leadership skills, and also someone who can study and know the ever-changing youth culture. This person also is a self-starter with high energy and stamina, in addition to a healthy theology of self-care and the ability to set boundaries for self and family. Mountain View Church is praying for, and purposefully seeking God’s chosen person to be part of our staff team. The adventure and opportunity of ministry in this valley is tremendous!
